The story begins with an anchor point
I'm taking you to the Gulf of Morbihan, at the very end of the Rhuys peninsula.
It is in this region that my husband and I found, six years ago, our Home Sweet Home, consisting of a small fisherman's house with a garden.
We went there often, on long weekends, during vacation periods…then more and more often. The air, the calm, the sea, the nature, the gentleness, the sumptuous beauty of the Gulf…
We also spent the lockdown there.
Nothing was premeditated. We had been there for three days, the announcement of the lockdown made us decide to stay.
A place and an idea that germinates
Little by little, the idea of staying in this locality and creating a place there germinated. Open air where everything can be done by bike, nature within reach, in the heart of Morbihan that I have loved since I was little, proximity to the dynamic and open Vannes, I wanted to create a link around my activity, a warm human dynamic, a place where my work is open to others where we exchange, we discover, we share.
He who seeks, finds!
So I searched. For a year. And at the very beginning of 2021, luck finally smiled on me with the opportunity to set up in the Les Voilerieuses business incubator. I didn't hesitate. After all these long months of searching, this incredible modern place allowed me to consider a manufacturing workshop and a boutique/showroom space. It's a real dream come true.
The workshop/boutique dream comes true
A showroom, for the craftsman, is first of all seeing his own work, taking a form of distance after the manufacturing. We imagined an object, we created it from scratch in the workshop, concentrated in his bubble of creativity. Hanging it, placing it, lighting it, exhibiting it is having another look. It becomes him, it takes its place.
It is also putting it in a situation in a place that resembles you and in which it is projected. The showroom is your showcase, another extension of yourself.
This is another starting point that needs to be developed, animated, and brought to life. Getting out of your comfort zone and opening doors to others, welcoming, receiving, making great encounters, creating connections.
And I find this challenge alive. I aspire to this opening, to move on to this new stage. It is still a form of creation.
And I will put all my energy into ensuring that, in the end, my space lives and is nourished by encounters of common tastes, the love of beautiful objects, beautiful materials so that the result of artisanal know-how continues to accompany your daily lives.
So I will have fulfilled Sylvie Strohl's childhood dream.
So looking forward to meeting you there!
