The workshop

Sylvie Strohl, creator of timeless and urban bags

The way to the bags

When she is in front of her cutting table, even if the path that led her there has taken a certain detour, Sylvie Strohl experiences the moving feeling of being in His place. As if all the Sylvies, from the earliest childhood to today, like a Russian doll, had only had one certainty, the evidence of being there.
Because throughout her adult life, she has always had access to a sewing machine and textiles.

When the timing of her life allowed her to decide to devote herself to her deepest aspirations, it was as if all the vital energy that contained her had finally started to move.
The entity “Sylvie Strohl” was created in 2015 .
The culmination of three years of training in artisanal sewing in the private Edwige Bridonneau workshop in Angers.
There she acquired the CAP couture flou, the techniques of pattern making and sewing in order to be able to create her clothing collections.

In this journey, she integrates the bag: a real love at first sight for this utilitarian object. Complementary to the outfit, its exterior displays your choices, your representativeness, its interior, your intimacy.
What makes sense to her: bringing her touch of delicacy, her values of quality for materials and her profession , her sure taste for material combinations.

A nice program in perspective for your daily companion!

The essence of his inspiration

It is above all the authenticity of the textile that makes her vibrate. What touches her is the close relationship between man and natural material.
Through a beautiful fabric, there is the gesture, the requirement, the know-how, a certain notion of time.

And when she touches a textile material, she feels its fall, marvels at its color, its print, its weave, she feels herself vibrate. She knows that she holds in her hands a precious object.

The textiles she cherishes:
- Natural materials: wool, cotton, linen, hemp, etc.
- Twill weaves, tweed, etc.
- The colors: the elegant Navy Blue, the energizing Orange, the deep Plum, the solid Green, the warm Mustard, the calm Mouse Gray…
- Horizontal striped prints, graphics, ...

The countries that inspire him: England, Scotland, Ireland, Polynesia, Africa and others that I dream of going to like Japan.

What makes sense: sharing and bringing these precious materials to life through a useful accessory that accompanies your daily life.

  • Up to 20 pattern pieces may be required and are validated by a prototype.
  • Each piece of the bag will be cut out, lined and assembled by Sylvie Strohl in the workshop.
  • Each bag can take between 5 to 12 hours of work to arrive at a unique piece.
  • It will then be stain-resistant, numbered, labeled and packaged with its protective pocket.
