Linen, a new material for this large rectangular shoulder bag
This year I have included linen mixed with leather for some bag sizes in my new Rectangle collection. Among many colors it is this Aubergine color that will be the basic textile of the Rectangle Aubergine series.
As for the lining, putty-colored gabardine was chosen.
Regarding the leather, the play of three of my favorite leathers: an eggplant-colored leather, a straw-colored leather, and a rusty orange-colored leather perfectly highlighted the linen.
The selected printed cotton is the cotton canvas which will return in the small accessories in aubergine, orange colors.
The era of the Rectangular shape in this latest series of handbags
The Rectangular shape inspired me, as previously the large Philippa tote bag.
I combined this collection of handbags, with or without a shoulder strap, in the Vertical direction. I find this shape of bags modern and dynamic. I added a practical touch to it.
I wanted to treat this format like a bucket bag with a large shoulder strap that goes from one side of the bag to the other.
The little secrets of making the large Rectangle XL shoulder bag
The outer base of this large rectangular shoulder bag is quilted linen with a 2mm rigid interlining. The bottom of the rectangular shoulder bag is protected by an aubergine-colored leather bottom.
On one side of the rectangular shoulder bag, a straw-colored leather tab attaches the D-shaped Nickel metal fastener that will receive the Nickel metal hook of the leather shoulder strap. Further down, the rust-colored Orange leather label bears the Sylvie Strohl brand logo.
On the other side of the rectangular shoulder bag, a 3 cm x 17 cm straw-colored leather tab holds 4 nickel metal collar buttons and adjusts the length of the leather shoulder strap.
Access to the interior of the rectangular shoulder bag is completely closed by a metal zipper and its aubergine-colored leather tabs.
The removable shoulder strap of the 90 x 3 cm rectangular shoulder bag is two-tone: one side aubergine, one side rust orange. You can choose the color of your shoulder strap and adjust its length.
For the inside of the shoulder bag, on one side a pocket is available to hold your two favorite pencils. On the other side of the lining of the rectangular shoulder bag, a pocket can hold your tablet. Against this side, a rust orange leather pocket awaits your mobile phone.
